Students from 14 countries present at Samara Space School

Annually young people from different countries interested in space science attend the school, TASS informs. The educational institution is based on Samara National Research University. Its students develop their own projects. Some of them are successfully implemented. One of such projects is a space elevator included into the Guinness Book of World Records.

Space school started to work at the beginning of this century. Nanosatellites – space ships weighing less than ten kilos, became the main direction of the school research. Students work over three variants of nanosatellites. The first variant is meant for testing satellite-to-satellite technologies, the second one is to identify sea vessels and the third type of nanosatellites is worked out for broadcasting of earthquakes and tsunami. Moreover, “space students” developed their own project, which is a nanosatellite telescope. 

The popularity of International Space School is gradually increasing year by year. The geography of its students actively grows too. A number of applications this year amounted to two hundred, which is a record number. The applications were sent from thirty countries. Students were selected judging by the results of remote training and execution of test assignments. Forty young people out of almost fifteencountries became the best ones.
