Medvedev called for export of Russian Higher Education

Facebook/RUDNRussian education should turn into one of the export directions, according to Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev who claimed about that in the course of Presidium meeting of the Presidential Council for Strategic Development and Priority Pojects, Rosbusinessconsulting advises.

Dmitry Medvedev believes that export of Russian education is not only one of possible variants of earning for universities, but, first of all, it is a major factor of interpersonal communications, broadening cultural contacts and attraction of talented people into national economy.

Prime Minister has underlined that we are talking about globalization of Russian educational system. He has reminded that rivalry for attracting foreign students would only grow in time. Dmitry Medvedev has added that we should do our best to increase the number of students in Russian higher educational institutions from abroad by three times. According to Prime Minister, the number of foreign students studying on-line should increase from one million to three and a half million people.

Besides, it is necessary to found a consortium of leading Russian universities aimed at development of main approaches to exporting Russian education. As per Dmitry Medvedev, another significant task is to find a solution to a problem of students’ employment and their internships during vacations and studying, which will enable them to study and live in the supportive environment, work and have vacations in Russia.
