Vyacheslav Nikonov: "US missile strike on Al Shayrat air base in Syria violates international law"

Chairman of the Committee on Education of the State Duma Vyacheslav Nikonov commented last actions of the U.S.

“Today very worrying event in the global politics has happened, the U.S. missile strike on Al Shayrat air base in Syria. This is an aggression action against a sovereign government, the UN member, in violations of the norms of international law. Of course all kinds of convenient pretexts are not adequate and don’t hold ground,” stated Vyacheslav Nikonov.

“The danger of this situation is that USA was well-informed that there is Russian military men on that air base, also. And it would be hard to imagine what would have happened in the global politics if our countrymen were among the victims. Thanks God, no one of our compatriots has died,”commented the politician.

As per Vyacheslav Nikonov, in any case it is a “significant blow to Russian-US relations that dont have already much left of” and “Very bad start for another possible beginning of the dialog between our countries”.
