Valentina Tereshkova opened her own exhibition in London

pixabay.com Valentina Tereshkova received warm congratulations at her anniversary from the British capital citizens, RIA Novosti reports. London Science Museum prepared an exhibition First woman in space, and honored the bravest woman in the world at the opening ceremony. Valentina celebrated her 80th birthday few days ago.

Historical pictures, archived documents and personal belongings of the legendary Chaika are among the displayed items. Visitors are welcome to watch a motion picture comprising historical episodes related to the history of space exploration in the Soviet Union. Besides, authors of the documentary included memoirs of Tereshkova about her space flight.

The celebration heroine said she is very excited to find out the vivid interest of Russians and British people in cosmonautics history. A documentary Legend about Valentina was produced by Museum and Foundation ArtPoint for her anniversary. Tereshkova received standing applause before the beginning of the movie.

Music by Orchestra Russian Philharmonic headed by the virtuosic violinist Dmitri Kogan sounded at the background of the documentary.

It should be reminded that a lot of attention is paid to Russian Art and Russian History in London this year. In particular, several exhibitions were already opened in the British capital. They are dedicated to one hundred’s anniversary of the Russian Revolution.
