The Golden Ring and Baikal – Alaska Expedition are in top 25 Russian tourist routes

Baikal-Alaska historical geographical expedition is among the most popular national tourist routes, as per RIA Novosti. It occupies 16 position in the National Tourist Attraction rating leaving behind such well-known routes as Stories Around Moscow (Podmoskovnye stories), Russian Mansions, Kamchatka Ski Touring, Magadan Bear Hunting and many others. Golden Ring still tops the list.

Almost 70 percent of the respondents would like to follow the route from Baikal to Alaska at the footsteps of Siberian merchants.

The expedition crosses several regions including Irkutsk Region, Sakhalin Region, Buryatia, Yakutia, Khabarovsk and Kamchatka territories. The final destination is the US state Alaska. 

It should be reminded that the first Russian Tourist Attraction rating have been published at the beginning of this month. Tourist objects from Moscow and Saint Petersburg were included in 5 of the best places in Russia, such as Tretyakov Gallery, the Kremlin, Hermitage, Peterhof Palace and Bolshoi Theatre.
