Konstantin Kosachev

Head of Rossotrudnichestvo (Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation)

Born on Septempber 17, 1962, in Mamontovka settlement of the Moscow region.

In 1984 Konstantin graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR. He holds Master's degree in law.

In 1998-1999 Mr. Kosachev served as advisor, aide for the international agenda and deputy head of the Secretariat of Prime Minister Evgeny Primakov.

In 1999-2003 he was Deputy of the Federal Assembly's State Duma of the third convocation, member of the Fatherland – All Russia (Otechestvo – Vsya Rossiya) faction, and Deputy Chairman of the Committee for International Affairs.

In 2003-2011 Mr. Kosachev was Deputy of the Federal Assembly's State Duma of the fourth and fifth convocations, Chairman of the Committee for International Affairs.

On December 4, 2011, he was elected as Deputy of the State Duma of the sixth convocation.

On March 5, 2012, Mr. Kosachev was appointed as Head of the Federal Agency for the CIS Affairs, Compatriots Residing Abroad and International Humanitarian Collaboration – Rossotrudnichestvo.
