Russia and Europe: Crucial Problems of Modern International Journalism conference takes place in Rome
The eighth international conference Russia and Europe: Crucial Problems of Modern International Journalism to be held in Rome on September, 5. The event is traditionally organized by International Life magazine, published with the support of Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as the Federal Press and Mass Communications Agency (Rospechat).
The following round table discussions are to take place this year: The Concept of Russia and the World in the Evolving Paradigm of the Political Discourse of Europe, The Influence of Modern Media on the Dynamics of Transformation of Political Elites of Eastern, Central and Western Europe and System and Functional Transformation of News Media in Russia and Europe: a diffusion of responsibility.
Russian ambassador to Italy and San Marino Sergey Razov, deputy head of Rospechat Tatyana Naumova, editor-in-chief of International Life magazine Armen Hovhannisyan, deputy head of the Department of Broadcasting and Mass Media Elena Gorenkova are going to speak at the opening ceremony.
The business program of the conference includes speeches by Russian and European media experts, representatives of international public organizations, diplomatic agencies and institutions. The conference will be attended by director of the international Geopolitics magazine Tiberio Graziani (Italy), chief specialist of the external communications service of the RT channel Anna Belikova, editor-in-chief of International Relations magazine Chavdar Minchev (Bulgaria), historian, journalist, writer and columnist for Chronicles magazine Srja Trifkovic, and many others.
The international conference is held every year in various countries of the world. The event is traditionally attended by European media leaders, politicians, diplomats, scientists, political scientists, and management of international companies.
The first conference, held in Paris in November 2011, showed how important the topic of interaction between Russian and European media was for both the media themselves and their audiences. Russian and European media called the event "the most important event in the international media space." The main sessions of the conference were: National interests and international journalism, Problems of access to information for the media in Russia and Europe, The role of the media in relations between countries and their impact on the international climate and International journalism: international ethical standards and uniform ethical rules. In 2018, the seventh conference was held in Sofia. The main topics of discussion were European media - the source of "sensational "news about Russia and Modern international information: national or nationalist media.
Participants and guests of the conference note the importance of this event for the improvement of international professional relations in the media. An open conversation, a search for compromises and a sincere desire of each participant to understand their opponents are what makes the conference objective and effective.
