Russian Culture Audio Encyclopedia

In 2008 the philology department of St. Petersburg State University with support from the Russkiy Mir Foundation began developing an information and education portal called the Russian Culture Audio Encyclopedia.

The program is based on 12 language learning segments, each of includes audio and written lectures as well as full annotation in Russian and English, introductory articles, illustrations, testing materials, teaching guidelines, and more.

The language learning resources are grouped and targeted toward three audiences: 1) students applying for acceptance into institutes of higher education, 2) university students learning Russian as a second language and 3) students specializing in humanities (linguistics, literature, folklore, history and fine arts).

All materials are available online and are tailored for long-distance learning.
