Mikhail Vasilyevich Lomonosov was a Russian polymath, scientist and writer, who made important contributions to literature, education, and science. Among his discoveries was the atmosphere of Venus. His spheres of science were natural science, chemistry, physics, mineralogy, history, art, philology, optical devices and others. Lomonosov was also a poet, who created the basis of the modern Russian literary language.

The year 2011 marks the 300th anniversary of the birth of this great talent of Russian history.

Russian Center Opens on Board of Training Sailing Vessel Mir

The opening of the Russian Center took place on April 26, 2012, in St. Petersburg on board of the training sailing vessel Mir, which is getting ready to set sail for more than 20 foreign ports. The center was opened with the support of the Russkiy Mir Foundation.
