About 400 Cubans have applied to study Russian at the Open Education Center of the Korolenko Glazov State Pedagogical Institute. The center began work in Havana in May of this year, according to the university's VKontakte page.

It is noted that at present, representatives of the institute are recruiting students for Russian language courses in the Cuban capital. The Center intends to open training in August. The organizers noted that the most popular among Havana residents are entry-level courses. However, those who know the Russian language at a sufficiently high level also applied.

The Center hopes that students with any level of knowledge will be able to receive assistance in mastering the Russian language.

The Russian language will be taught according to an innovative methodology using gaming technologies, an interactive whiteboard and virtual reality. The participants of the classes will get acquainted with the cities of Russia, as well as with the culture of the country.

The rector of the Institute, Yanina Chigovskaya-Nazarova, noted that during the courses, students from Cuba will also learn about the advantages of Russian education, about the scientific achievements of Russia. The rector is confident that the courses will be an important step in education and employment for Cubans.
