Zerkalo International Film Festival kicked off in Ivanovo

The Zerkalo Film Festival begins on Friday, June, 30, RIA Novosti reports. The film forum, which bears the name of Andrei Tarkovsky, is being held in Ivanovo for the 17th time.

Traditionally, guests and participants gather in Yuryevets, Tarkovsky's hometown. A concert dedicated to composer Eduard Artemiev will be timed to coincide with the beginning of the festival. He composed music for several of Tarkovsky's works. 

According to the organizers, representatives of more than ten countries will take part in the film forum, including Brazil, China, India and other countries. Eight films will compete for the main prize - Brighton 4, The Wind Will Tell, Have You Seen This Woman?, Nisha and others.

A series of events dedicated to the anniversary of Oleg Yankovsky will begin at the film festival. Next year, the famous artist would have turned 80 years old. There will also be a retrospective of films with the participation of Inna Churikova, who was the first president of the Zerkalo festival. In addition, programs dedicated to Vadim Abdrashitov and fashion designer Vyacheslav Zaitsev are planned.
