Andrei Tarkovsky retrospective to take place in London

The Andrei Tarkovsky Retrospective to take place in London, as part of the SIFFA independent film festival, Kommerstant newspaper reports. It is timed to coincide with the master's 90th birthday. Tarkovsky's art exhibition is also scheduled in the frames of the event.  

Ivan’s Childhood, Mirror, Andrei Roublev will be screened November 21, 22 and 28 at the Everyman Borough Yards in London.  The retrospective opens on November 21 with Ivan’s Childhood (1962) screening, one of the greatest films ever made about both childhood and war, Tarkovsky's debut in big cinema. 

Next day the Mirror, released in 1974, to be screened, one of the three highlights that “sealed” his reputation as the rld-recognized director.  The retrospective to be concluded with 1966 arthouse biographical historical drama Andrei Rublev. The film is also considered one of the pinnacles of Andrei Tarkovsky's work and is included among the world's major film masterpieces.

SIFFA President and Founder Lyubov Balagova-Kandur has underlined that the festival realizes unifying art concept that promotes peace and mutual understanding, building bridges through film and art.
