Pushkin's poems recited in six languages ​​in Rabat

Poems by Alexander Pushkin in six languages, European and African, were recited at a soiree organized in the Russian House in Morocco in honor of the birthday of the Russian poet. Guests of the event could get acquainted with the biography and work of Alexander Pushkin, as well as translations of his works into different languages, TASS reports.

Russian compatriots living in Morocco, employees of the Russian diplomatic mission, local residents and cultural figures, representatives of the Moroccan Association of University Graduates of the Former USSR and the Association for the Development of Friendship between Morocco and Russia attended the event.

The soiree opened with a story about the most important events of the biography and the most significant works of the Russian classic. The authors of the evening dwelled in detail on such Pushkin's works as Eugene Onegin, Ruslan and Lyudmila and others, as well as translations of works.

Russian compatriots and Moroccans read Pushkin's classic lines in six languages ​​- Russian, Arabic, Amazigh (Berber), English, French and Finnish. According to the guests, the event made it possible to highlight Pushkin's role in world culture and the development of the Russian literary language.
