Russia presents over 500 books at prestigious exhibition in London

Russia will present over 500 books at the international book exhibition in London, Knizhnaya Industriya magazine informs. It is considered one of the biggest events in field of book publishing. London Book Fair exhibition opens on Tuesday, March 12. It will be 48th expo in a row. Representatives of 130 countries will become its participants. 

Read Russia project was presented to the world community for the first time at London book exhibition in 2011. This is the largest initiative in the history of Russian publishing, which presents modern literature of Russia to the international audience. The project was initiated by the Federal Agency on Press and Mass Communications. It is being implemented with the assistance of Yeltsin Center and the Institute of Translation. 

Russian publishers will present their new products in British capital, including works by contemporary authors, non-fiction and educational books. The public will see the literature for a children and art albums. Publications issued abroad with the assistance of Russian Institute of Translation will be shown. 

Visitors of the national stand will be able to get acquainted with the products of more than 30 publishing houses. The fair will host an exhibition of famous Russian graphic artists Andrei Kostin, Igor Oleinikov and Sergey Alimov. The exhibits will be dedicated to great Russian writers with their anniversaries in 2019: Alexander Pushkin and Nikolai Gogol. 

After the end of London fair, books from the exposition will be handed over to the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo. 

Round tables, discussions and creative meetings with readers are timed to the exhibition. Translators of Russian literature and writers will take part in them. Alexey Ivanov, Guzel Yakhina, Alexey Salnikov and Ekaterina Rozhdestvenskaya will arrive in London.
