Russia expels 60 US diplomats in tit-for-tat measure

Moscow took decision to expel 60 US diplomats and to close the St Petersburg consulate in tit-for-tat measure over Skripal's poisoning case, TASS reports. According to Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov, US Ambassador in Moscow Jon Huntsman was invited to the MFA and handed notice about the “symmetrical” response to the Washington actions.

As we reported earlier, Washington decided to expel 60 Russian diplomats who have to leave the country in a week. Twelve of them are Permanent Mission of Russia to the United Nations staff members. White House wants to close Russian Consulate in Seattle as well.

Almost 20 western allies took the decision to expel dozens ofRussian diplomats in response to the Skripal case.
