Settling political accounts like this could end up with spreading of terror and outbreaks of interethnic conflicts in the region, the Ministry reports.

An attempted assassination happened yesterday’s morning, when Olivier Ivanovic was entering the head office of his party Freedom, Democracy, Truth. As the politicians’ colleagues told the police later, there was no shooting heard in the building. The woman living nearby found the wounded politician.

Olivier Ivanovic was delivered to the hospital with five gunshot injuries. The doctors made everything possible but the politician eventually died.

The local police managed to find the burnt car without number plates not far from the crime scene. According to the preliminary version, this car belonged to the murderers.

Russian Foreign Affairs Ministry expressed condolences to friends and relatives of the politician and called international organizations in Kosovo to join for investigation of the incident to prevent such cases in future.
