Moscow House of CompatriotsA possibility of constructing multifunctional web portal for attraction of nationals to Russian culture, history and language is considered in Guatemala. Julia Bludova shared this information with Moscow House of Expats. She dreamed of teaching Russian language and literature in one of the Guatemalan schools, so she moved to Guatemala. Julia Bludova has noticed that some kinder gardens in Guatemala popularize multiculturalism and preschool children study English, Russian, Chinese and other languages.

Association of Russian Expats in Guatemala has been established in 2013. Around fifty people are its members now. Overall around two hundred and fifty Russians moved to Guatemala according to various reasons.

Association of Russian Expats in Guatemala conducts cultural events dedicated to the state holidays of the Russian Federation with support of the Russian Embassy in Guatemala. Representatives of the Russian community together with local population take part in the events.

According to Julia Bludova, Guatemala is interested in collaborating with Russia in the field of education, as Latin America values Russian higher education a lot. The country has shortage of teachers and IT-specialists.

Julia Bludova is satisfied that Russia has increased support of Russian compatriots’ organizations abroad. According to her, it is necessary to build closer connection between coordinating councils from different countries as well as between universities of Russia and Guatemala.
