Russian, Lithuanian and Belgian theater personalities receive Baltic Star award

M3peti/wikimedia.org16th Baltic Star award ceremony took place at the Hermitage Theatre, St. Petersburg, newspaper Fontanka reports. This year the main awardees are the actor Regimantas Adomaitis (Lithuania), Russian choreagrapher Boris Eifman, Belgian director Luc Perceval, and Tovstonogov Bolshoi Drama Theater art director Eduard Kochergin. Art gallery Borei in St. Petersburg received award "For the Culture Support."

Regimantas Adomaitis was happy about award especially due to the fact it coincides with his 80th birthday.

Boris Eifman has reminded that his theater also celebrates anniversary this year and this award is the best possible gift.

Luc Persenval has complained that some politicians use the fact that our world is full of lies, hence artists have to mend that and bring truth to the audience. He expressed his support to those creative people oppressed by current regimes, including Russian director Kirill Serebrennikov.
