Viktor Sadovnichy proposes to establish International Union of Rectors at 19th WFYS

lickr/Federation Council Viktor Sadovnichy has proposed to establish United Association for Rectors from all the world universities, TASS reports. Lomonosov Moscow State University’s head offered this initiative at the discussion titled Universities at the Epoch of Global Explosions. It is included into the programme of the World Festival for Youth and Students in Sochi.

According to the rector of the oldest Russian university, the union will help to join efforts. He is sure that universities do not have future without such communication and visibility.

It should be reminded that earlier Viktor Sadovnichy proposed to establish International Union of the Young Scientists. He shared the information that the university has been organizing a scientific forum, which gathers up to fifteen thousand young scientists for fifteen years. Around fifty percent of them come from other countries.

Victor Sadovnichy has explained that the Union of Young Scientists can start to function at this Forum already. The union will facilitate contacts of young people willing to do sciences and research activities.

The main events of the World Festival for Youth and Students are held in Sochi. This year for the first time, the programme of the festival supposes acquaintance with the inviting country. Thanks to this, foreign students will be able to visit fifteen Russian cities, meet their peers and get to know culture of multinational Russia much better.

Russkiy Mir Foundation is a partner of 19th World Festival for Youth and Students’ administration rendering help in attraction of participants from abroad. Almost two hundred young people from ex-Soviet countries and non-CIS states could come to Russia for the festival.
