Actress and director Vera Glagoleva dies aged 61

Famous actress and film director Vera Glagoleva passed away, TASS informs. She died at the age 61 after a serious disease.

People’s Artist of Russia have played many roles in movies, having no professional actress’s degree. Soviet film director Rodion Nakhapetov introduced her to the cinema world and became her husband afterwards.

Vera Glagoleva acted in more than fifty movies. Among them are such films as Don’t Shoot White Swans, Enemies, Sincerely Yours…, Coming from Heaven, Poor Sasha, Maroseyka Str. 12 series and many others.

She started directing films last years of her life, debuting with the psychological drama Broken light. In 2010 Vera Glagoleva directed movie One War about heavy lives of women having children of German occupants. The film was awarded by prizes of more than thirty international film festivals.

The youngest daughter of Glagoleva Anastasia Shubskaya graduated from the film production faculty of the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography. She has acted in several movies already. The eldest daughters of the well-known actress have tried themselves in playing roles in movies too.
