Northern Russian city Totma from Vologodskaya Oblast celebrated 880th anniversary, TASS reports. This city is famous for travelers, merchants and mariners.
Celebrations have lasted for several days. The number of tourists has grown two times. Tourists visited the California's Fort Ross fortress founder Ivan Kuskov museum, Church antiques museum, and street fair. Museum of Marine explorers has prepared a special program as well.
Bells’ binging in Totma and American Fort Ross were the main part of the celebration. Created 26 years ago, the tradition was initiated by Totem museum union and Moscow Historical-Educational Society Russian America headed by Totma national Vladimir Koluchev.
Bells were binging simultaneously during online broadcasting on the both sides of the ocean: in California and Vologodsky Oblast.
