Kharms movie receives two awards at Shanghai Film Festival

Kharms film by Ivan Bolotnikov won two awards at XX International Film Festival, TASS reports. Expert jury acknowledged this movie the best one in nominations for the Best Scenario and the Best Cinematographer’s Work.

The gala awarding ceremony was held in Shanghai Grand Theatre. Accepting awards, the film director thanked the film-production team for their work and support. He has complemented the cinematographer Shandor Berkeshi and the scriptwriter Sergei Solovyev.

Ivan Bolotnikov acknowledged that he received many tempting cooperation proposals in China, though he refused to reveal details. The filmmaker has said that he is currently working over his next movie with a scratch title Palmira.

Movies from Japan, USA, Germany, Italy, Iran and some other countries were presented in the main contest programme of the Shanghai Film Festival.

As per the Russkiy Mir Foundation, the creators of the Kharms movie tried to answer key questions about life of the writer and his creative career. The feature movie was produced thanks to the international cooperation of the cinema workers and producers from Russia, Macedonia and Lithuania.
