Canadian kids won at the International Festival of Russian-speaking Youth Theaters

www.russfestival.comInternational Festival of Russian-speaking Children's and Youth Theaters has concluded in Washington, DC. Kids from 13 US and Canadian theaters participated in the event. Russian Musical Theater in Aurora from Ontario was unanimously recognized as the best one in many nominations.

This year Russian Musical Theater in Aurora under director Veronica Presman has brought two plays. One of them, Sofia's Mirror, has received the Grand Prix. It is worth mentioning that last year Veronica Presman has received the Best Director prize at the festival.

Actor and director from Moscow Oleg Golub came from Moscow to preside over the jury. He has mentioned that actors from Ontario have already earned the main prize 2 years ago, and in 2016 the theater received the prize for the best director's work. He has also praised newcomers, saying that they have shown very good potential, and are expected the next year.

Festival concluded with gala concert where the bright stars performed solo at the Harold and Sylvia Greenberg Theatre at American University .

As we mentioned earlier, the festival founder Svetlana Sokolova has proudly mentioned that many people participate in the event as volunteers. They do the job for free because they care about preservation of Russian culture. She has passed sincere gratitude to Rossotrudnichestvo for outstanding assistance and support.
