International Festival of Russian-speaking Children's and Youth Theaters starts in Washington

The International Festival of Russian-speaking Children's and Youth Theaters logoThe Gala opening of the The International Festival of Russian-speaking Children's and Youth Theaters took place yesterday in USA capital. Pushkin masquerade ball was conducted in Russian diplomatic mission.

Russia's Ambassador to the US Sergey Kislyak told the audience that the primary goal of this festival is to unite Russian community in US and those who love Russian culture not only for the current but for the following generations as well. He has also added that children who participate in this event are truly engaged in the Russian language and in Russian theatre.

The festival head Svetlana Sokolova has proudly mentioned that people who participate in the event organisation work as volunteers. They do the job for free because they care about preservation of Russian culture.
