Russian Ambassador in Turkey Andrey Karlov's Commemorative plate inauguration took place in Istanbul on May 22. Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Russian Railways Arkady Dvorkovich, Minister of Energy of Russia Alexander Novak, and the interim Russia - Turkey attorney participated in the board opening.

Memorial board is placed at the second floor of Russian Consulate in Ankara. There are portraits of all Russian ambassadors who served in the mission for the past few centuries. 

Let us remind, that Russian Ambassador was shot dead at the end of 2016 during an exhibition opening. Russia recognized this case as an act of terrorism.
