XXVI International Slavonic Film Festival Zolotoy Vityaz takes place in Sevastopol

Sevastopol is hosting International Slavonic Film Festival Zolotoy Vityaz (The Golden Knight), TASS reports. It opens today on May 22 to become the 26th Festival in succession. Representatives of almost three dozens of different countries will meet at the Black Sea side. On the Milky Road movie by celebrated Serbian film director Emir Kusturica will open the ceremony. Kusturica himself and Italian film star Monica Bellucci acted in the movie.

The festival agenda includes more than one hundred and eighty films. These movies will compete for the victory in seven nominations. Features by film directors from the former Soviet Union countries, Europe, USA, Japan and Chili will be presented at the festival. Winners will get golden, silver and bronze figures of Vityaz correspondently.

It is worth reminding that Emir Kusturica will be nominated for the highest award of the Festival. According to Film Festival Director Nikolay Burlyaev, he will be awarded will the golden medal of Sergei Bondarchuk for the great personal contribution into cinema development.

The list of honored guests of the Film Festival consists of actors, film directors, producers, operators and cinema critics. Among them are Olga Kabo, Elena Zakharova, Vladimir Gostyuhin, Sergey Shakurov, Lyudmila Chursina. The audience will meet actor Goyko Mitich famous for playing roles of Indians.

International Film Festival’s slogan is For Moral Values, For Elevation of Human Soul. The Golden Vityaz joins cinema, theatre, music, literature and fine arts organizing cultural events all across Russia.
