Russian National Ice Hockey team left behind team Finland with the score of 5:3 the day before, TASS informs.

Consolatory finals were held in Cologne where Russian players were ready to outplay the Finns this time, because lately they were constantly losing to team Finland at World Championships.

Just one puck was stuffed by forward Nikita Gusev at the first period. Our hockey players turned the score from 1:0 into 4:0 within 8 minutes of the second period. This time it was success of Vladimir Tkachev, Nikita Gusev again and Bogdan Kiselyevich. It seems like the game could be over, but the National team Finland did not agree to give up. The Finns have decisively stuffed three pucks in the third period resuming the intrigue, but on the 50th minute of the third period, Nikita Kucherov stuffed the fifth puck after which the National team of Russia has accomplished the victorious game.

Our hockey players took the bronze medal for the second time in a row at Ice Hockey World Championships. Russians have been winning medals at World Championships since 2014. The Russian team occupied the first place in 2014, the second place - in 2015 and the third place - in 2016.

The national teams of Canada and Sweden will meet in the finals. In case of Northern Americans’ victory, they will have an equal number of golden awards over the whole history of Ice Hockey World Championships.
