26.04.2017

Russian director, film critic and editor-in-chief of Seans magazine Lyubov Arkus advertised the beginning of the research and educational online project Chapaev (named after celebrated Russian soldier and the Red Army commander during the Russian Civil War). The project is devoted to the National Cinema history.

It is planned to publish articles, research and archive materials on Russian and Soviet cinema history. Also educational materials from simple to professional levels are going to be available for the registered users.

On the press conference Lyubov Arkus has marked that the website team prepared two courses on the pioneers of the youth cinematography. One is dedicated to the Soviet filmmaker and actress Margarita Barskaja, and the other is the wide-angle view on the School Film topic. As per Lyubov Arkus, the young generation doesn't clearly understand old film's context, and for that few courses on the country's history are prepared on the site, as well. The website founder has added that around 20 courses are in the preparation stage currently, and a half of them will be published shortly.

Lyubov Arkus thanked film archives Gosfilmofond and Mosfilm, Cinema Museum and other institutions that continuously supported her during the process of creation the project and the website.
