Andrey Konchalovsky receives the main Nika film award

Vyacheslav Prokofiev/TASS Nika National Film Award ceremony took place in Mossovet Theatre, RIA Novosti informs.

Russian president Vladimir Putin in his greetings has marked that Nika Film Award established 30 years ago, is considered to be one of the most important cultural events in our country. It has a considerable impact on the Russian movie industry.

The Best Director award expectedly received Andrey Konchalovsky for his film Paradise that also received the main Feature Film award. For the striking performance in a leading role Julia Vusotskaya received the Best Actress award.

Best Actor (Timofey Tribuntsev), Best Supporting Actor (Boris Kamorzin) and another two awards were granted to Monakh i bes (Monk and Devil) feature by Nikolay Dostal.

Special prize For Honor and Dignity was given to the world renowned director Alexander Sokurov. Another famous film director, Alexander Mitta, was granted with the prize for The Outstanding Contribution to the Russian cinematography. Cinema critic Andrey Plalhov received the special prize For contribution in Cinematography, Film Education and Critics.
