The murder of the former State Duma deputy of the Russian Federation Denis Voronenkov has all symptoms of a demonstrative campaign. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova made this statement, according to RIA Novosti. She also expressed assuredness that it was a contract murder. "Current information indicates that we are talking about a well-prepared contract murder, which has all symptoms of a demonstrative campaign", Zakharova said.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs expects that investigation process will be based on genuine facts and any politization will be prevented. Meanwhile, Kiev has accused Russian intelligence agencies of this murder and will attempt to use every possible effort to uncover the truth.

Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov is sure that any murder is always a deep tragedy. He added that Russian President is already aware of this accident. The State Duma has claimed that the murder of the former deputy is a provocative act of Ukrainian intelligence services.

An assault on Voronenkov happened in the center of the Ukrainian capital near Premier Palace Hotel, when he was walking along the street together with his security guard who managed to wound the killer. The attacker has been delivered to the hospital where he is now in custody. Doctors evaluate his condition as critical.

The investigation of this case considers the only version, which is involvement of Russian intelligence agencies in this crime.
