All Russians to play at 2017 BNP Paribas Open Finals

19.03.2017

Two Russian Tennis players, Svetlana Kuznetsova and Elena Vesnina will strive to win at the 2017 BNP Paribas Open Finals in Indian Wells, California. The athletes will compete for more than $7 million of prize money.

This is the first Indian Wells finals for Elena Vesnina who just recently began to break through in singles. To get to the finals, she overpowered Kristina Mladenovic from France.

In turn, Svetlana Kuznetsova reached four Grand Slam finals, winning two of them. This time she’s won against Czech player Karolina Pliskova.

All-Russian final in Indian Wells happens for the second time. Tennis lovers remember how in 2006 Maria Sharapova defeated Elena Dementieva becoming the first Russian tennis champion.
