Russian sportsmen continue to win their medals at the Nordic World Ski Championship in Lahti, TASS reports.

Men’s national team leader Sergey Ustyugov, judging from his results, keeps perfect fit and continues his successful performance. He gained another golden medal together with Nikita Kryukov in team sprint this time. Our female skiers Natalia Matveyeva and Yulia Belorukova managed to get silver medals, which should be interpreted as their personal success, as new vice-champions had not performed so effectively before at similar competitions.

It is fair to notice that success of our sportsmen was accompanied by good luck: frontrunners in both male and female sprints ran into each other and fell down; meanwhile our skiers broke through and overran them.

After his triumph on Sunday, Nikita Kryukov became the World champion among the Soviet and Russian skiers for the third time.

Our sportsmen in Lahti managed to win already four awards, including two golden medals. The competition will continue on Tuesday, when our female skiers will have an opportunity to win another award in 10 km ski racing.
