Winter Military World Games start in Sochi

3rd CISM Winter Military World Games start in Sochi today, Interfax informs.

1000 militarians from 26 countries are taking part in this great tournament. There are 7 sports categories and 44 awards will be contested.  

The entrance for the public is free. The Olympic torch relay will be presented to the audience in Olympic Park. The grand opening ceremony will take place in The Ice Cube Curling Center.

Winter Military World Games occur every four years  years, one year before the Olympics. The very first Winter Military World Games took place in Italy, for the second second time – France. Both times the medal leaders were the tournament hosts.

Sochi Winter Military World Games will go on until February 28.
