A People's artist of Russia Vyacheslav Shalevich has died in Moscow at intensive-care ward of one of the Moscow hospitals where he was delivered due to severe illness he suffered from, reports RIA«Novosti».
Minister of Culture of the RF Vladimir Medinsky has expressed his condolences over the actor’s death, noting that the unique talent and charisma he had had always been appreciated both by the audience and his colleagues.
Vyacheslav Shalevich, 82, felt bad on 1 December when he was taking part in a jubilee performance of Pristan production and he was taken to hospital just during it. He refused to stay in hospital so his wife brought him home. Later, the actor was urgently delivered to hospital again. The actor went into a coma and a few days later died despite all the efforts made by emergency physicians.
The time of the civil funeral rite and funeral will be announced later. It is only known that the public viewing will take place at the Vakhtangov Theatre, where Vyacheslav Shalevich worked since 1958. He joined the theatre company just after graduating from the Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute.
