16.09.2016

Embassy of Russia in Albania conducted organizational meetings with new students of Russian language courses in Tirana. Over 160 students are willing to study the Russian language. This number is three times higher compared to the enrolment in 2015. This indicates a growing interest of Albanian people towards the Russian culture, history, literature and art .

Nine student groups have been formed by now. The students will be studying according to the certified program two times a week (duration of a lesson – 1,5hours). Lessons started on September 14.

Russian language courses were opened in September 2015 in Tirana and in January of 2016 in Vlore on the initiative and with the support of the Russian Embassy in Albania, «Russkiy Mir»foundation, and also with active participation of the Society of Russian compatriots in Albania , directed by Suzanne Karagioz.

In the future the opening of the Russian language courses is planned in a number of other cities in Albania, such as Durres, Fier and Saranda.
