Vladimir Yakunin Leaves JSC "Russian Railways"

Vladimir Yakunin, who has held the post of head of the JSC “Russian Railways” until yesterday, will no longer be on the board of directors of “Russian Railways”. He believes in the principle “when leaving – leave”. Now he aspires to join the Council of Federation of the Kaliningrad region.

In this regard, the former head of “Russian Railways” noted that senators do not have the right to engage in any commercial activity. Vladimir Yakunin said goodbye to his former co-workers of the past decade. On August, 21 Oleg Belozerov, formerly First Deputy Minister of Transport, accepted the position company president, reports RIA "Novosti".

The order was signed the day before by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. According to him, the new head of Russian Railways firstly needs to deal with the company's budget, investments and passenger transportation. Vladimir Yakunin is actively engaged in public work, he is the founder and head of the Foundation of St. Andrew, and is also holds a position on the board of trustees for "Russkiy Mir"..
